Babymoon!

8 weeks left! I can't believe we are 8 weeks away from meeting our little princess. The last doctor visit I had we decided to schedule the C-Section for May 21. We are really excited and looking forward to that special day! SO....with that date approaching very quickly, Dan and I decided to take a quick vacation to Las Vegas. We haven't been since our honeymoon 5 years ago and have really wanted to go again. We left on Saturday and came back on Tuesday....we had a fabulous time but I must say that it was pretty hard on me physically. Most of the vacation was spent walking and it was a little challenging for me to keep going on and on throughout the day so we made several stops in between our adventures for me to rest. I don't think either of us realized how limited our time alone together has been since we had Cooper and how it's going to be even more sparse once the baby comes. We enjoyed just spending time with each other even if we weren't doing anything but laying around and being lazy! Cooper had a great time with his MiMi while we were gone and I will attach a few pictures from their adventures as well as ours!

A few of the finds for Kyleigh's Room!

After deciding that I was going to go with a Hot Pink/Light Pink/Black theme for Kyleigh's nursery, I began the search for each piece of the puzzle. I have found several good deals on so many things so far and have been really pleased with myself for being a bargain shopper! I'm usually not always the one to find the best deal because I'm lazy and when I find something I like I just buy it without searching for the best price. I have become a better bargain hunter after being pregnant with a girl because I know that there are SOOOO many things to buy and not enough funds to buy the first thing I see. I bought a mirrored table to go beside the rocking chair, a small lamp to put on the table, a large lamp to go on the changing table, some baskets, and a pillow to go in the rocking chair. I must say a little something about the pillow.....I found this cute pillow with the chandelier on it at Hobby Lobby (I am becoming addicted to this place more and more lately). It happened to be half price so I got it for $12. It was too plain for my taste so we had to jazz it up a bit.....by putting some bling on! In total I think this pillow cost me $15 to do and it turned out great! We have to start the sparkles early ya know?

The first of many craft projects for Kyleigh's Room

So I would never label myself a crafty person but for some reason I have really been in the mood lately to jump on that bandwagon and try some new things. When I was pregnant with Cooper and we began thinking about what sort of theme we wanted to do for his room, I sort of went to the extreme. It turned out better than I expected and I still look at things in his room that I did that I proudly look at like "Wow I did that"! SO now that we are having a little girl I am still taking the theme to an extreme, just in the opposite direction. My sister-in-law Amy gave me the idea to do some flower balls for the baby's room. I decided to watch a few videos online and it didn't look too hard....which it wasn't until I couldn't seem to figure out how many flowers I needed for each ball which turned into 4 different shopping trips to buy more flowers! The end product is beautiful and I'm so thrilled that Amy gave me the idea!!

Cooper's 1st Trip to the Zoo!

This last weekend my brother came into town to visit. He got in late Friday night and stayed with us until late Saturday night. It was nice to see him and I know Cooper really enjoyed seeing him. He knew who he was the minute he walked in the door. He even called him by name! On Saturday morning Daniel and Matthew had plans to go over and help Clifton work on a boat we are thinking of buying. I knew that there was no way I could stay cooped up in the house one more day and so luckily my sister-in-law Amy called and asked if we might want to go to the zoo. I have been wanting to take Cooper for quite some time now and it never seems to pan out so I was in! We went with Amy, Layton, Juli, and Tanner and it was a perfect day....68 degrees and cloudy (not that I like cloudiness but it's better than the heat of the sun all day). We had such a great time and I really enjoyed seeing Cooper look at the animals and try and figure out what they all were. The highlight of the day was seeing the giraffe. Cooper has an attachment to a certain stuffed giraffe I purchased last year....what's funny is that I purchased this giraffe on a trip to see my parents because we left his stuffed horse at home. He has now forgotten all about the horse....it's all about "Gigi" as we call her. I was disappointed to see they were cleaning out the giraffe area and had them pinned up but luckily you could still see him in the back. When I finally got Cooper to see the giraffe he had a huge smile on his face and said "Gigi"? almost as if he was asking me if that huge animal could possibly be like his small stuffed one. I posted a couple of pictures in the sequence where you can tell that I'm pointing the giraffe out and then he smiles and points as well! It was hilarious and definitely made my day! I can't wait to go back when Dan can go with us and enjoy the day too!

"Bebee"?

I have struggled a lot lately with the thought of how Cooper will feel when the new baby arrives in a couple of months. He will always be my first baby and the joy he has brought to our lives over the past 2 years will never be replaced. He is so young and I fear that he will feel as though she has come into our lives to somehow take his place..... All sad feelings aside he did something really funny today that I had to share. As I was getting into the shower this afternoon I closed the shower door and Cooper pointed at my protruding belly and said "Bebee"? in the sweetest voice I've ever heard! It was almost as if he was asking me "Is there a baby in there"? I know he doesn't understand or grasp the fact that this little girl will be taking over mommy in a few weeks but I have to think that maybe he knows somewhere deep in his ever growing mind that even though it seems like my time with him will be so limited his new role as a "big brother" will be way more exciting!
