Trying to Play Catch-up.....

I know I know.....February 27th was the last time I blogged. It's not like I have anything else to do like taking care of 2 kids, a husband, and a dog? Anyways...enough excuses. I decided to just do one long post to update everyone on everyone.....ok? First, the kids....

Cooper - what can I say about this little guy? He is growing like a weed and in just a few short months we will be celebrating his 3rd birthday. It's really hard for me to believe he's been in our lives for 3 years now. He is such a sweet and curious little boy and he is learning new things every day. He is really trying to carry on conversations with us now and it's quite amusing to say the least. He has been talking all week long about going to stay with MiMi and Pop while Mommy and Daddy go on a cruise. He also associates that trip with everyone's vehicles, including Uncle Matt's "bad" truck...lol He is really starting to enjoy his little sister more now and I love to watch them interact together. They are so funny when they start mimicking each other back and forth. Cooper will be going to a Mother's Day Out program in June 2 days a week. I am really excited to get him involved in something other than staying home with boring old me. He is also going to be going to preschool 3 days a week this fall at Central Baptist here in College Station. I think this is going to be amazing for him and he's going to learn so much more than I could ever teach him!

Kyleigh - She is my busy little bee! She is about to be one (I choke as I write that because I can hardly believe it's been almost a year since her birth) and she seems so much more curious than Cooper ever was at this age. It's so funny how people always tell you how different your kids will be and boy were they right! She is different from Cooper in every way. She is becoming very brave and beginning to stand on her own and I just know she'll be walking before her birthday. Cooper didn't walk until he was around 15 months so I think it's safe to say she will probably beat him. She has also decided she wants to drink out of a straw! She found Cooper's cup the other night and we caught her drinking out of it! At first I didn't think any water was coming out but then I heard that ever so wonderful slurping sound! I decided to pick up a couple of small straw cups the next day just for her. She's talking like crazy now and I believe she's beginning to find her voice because she loves to be loud to make sure everyone can hear her. She is really beginning to interact with her brother now too which I find to be absolutely adorable. They are constantly laughing at each other. I do have to keep a watchful eye though because the minute I turn my head I find Cooper trying to "ride her horsey". It's hilarious to see but I know he's hurting her! You wouldn't know it though because she just lays on her belly and laughs....maybe I'll try to get a quick picture next time before I hurriedly rush him off her back!

Daniel - Busy Busy Busy.....that's pretty much all I can say for him. He has been so busy at work lately because the oil field is coming back in full force after these last couple of years being down. I'm so glad he was able to take a vacation last week because it was definitely much needed not just for me but for him as well. He is also very busy at home playing with his 2 favorite little people! I don't know what I would do without my amazing husband who is always so willing to give me the breaks every day that I so desperately need! I am so thankful for his help and the way he loves to spend quality time with our kids.

Lauren - Busy Busy Busy....yes I too am busy! I'm busy chasing around 2 kids under the age of 3! I know someday that we will be so thankful that we had our children so close together because we will have the freedom to go and travel and do many things as a family BUT getting to that special place is definitely proving to be a bit of a challenge......who am I kidding? somedays it's torture!!! Now that Kyleigh is somewhat "mobile" you have to watch her every move because she is so curious to see what she can find next to put in her mouth! Cooper has to still be watched because he's a little sneaky dude. I never know what I'm going to find him getting into in the kitchen or what kind of shenanigans he's trying to pull with his sister. I am beginning to make a few friends at church and I am hoping to get some kind of routine started with some of them so we can meet for playgroups, outings, etc.

Stay tuned for all the details about our amazing Caribbean cruise!!!!
