The Transformation Begins.....

I think every woman at some point in their life dreams of having a little girl to share in all of the wonderful things we as women enjoy like shopping, mani/pedi's, and the like. I can say that I am definitely one of those women who has always wanted to have a little girl! When we found out that this baby was a girl (95% sure anyways) I couldn't wait to start the decorating process. I will attempt to share the transformation little by little as we are able to get things done. This past week we were so thrilled to have my parents here for almost a week! They are never able to stay more than a weekend so this was a treat for us! While they were here my mom decided that she and my dad should help us begin the transformation of this little girl's room starting with the painting of the walls. I think my mom might be just as excited as I am about this little girl so I wasn't surprised to see her jumping before me to start the process. I posted a before and after picture of the room......enjoy!

Just like Daddy.....

It seems like from the moment we found out that Cooper was a boy when I was pregnant with him Daniel has dreamed of teaching him all about the guitar and music. He is still a little young for us to put one in his hands without fear of him tearing it to pieces but Daniel has had several opportunities to play for him and to see his reaction. I watch Cooper as he grows older and he desperately wants to be just like his daddy. I love to watch Daniel share his passion with our son and couldn't help but get some cute shots of the session!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day isn't quite the same after you have kids.....Dan and I try to do something together every year but now that we have Cooper it is a little more difficult to find time to spend alone. We managed to arrange a sleepover with Nana & Papa the Friday before V-Day and enjoyed a night out together eating at the Cheescake Factory (a newfound favorite of mine during this pregnancy) and then enjoying an evening with Radney Foster in New Braunfels at the Brauntex theatre. It was a really awesome experience and we are so glad we were able to go! I was also convinced by Amy to do a craft project.....I'm not a very crafty person but I must say I was impressed with the outcome! We made a beautiful heart wreath out of felt....it looks like roses! I posted a pic for you to enjoy!

Finger Painting!

So.....I guess it's safe to say that not every child enjoys getting dirty. I guess you don't really know what your kids might enjoy though until you try it! My sister-in-law Amy invited Cooper and I over last Friday to finger paint and to do a little crafting ourselves. I really haven't tried any kind of art projects with Cooper just yet so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. We decided that it would be best to do one child at a time so one of us could help with the paint and the other could take pictures. I brought my new big camera over so I elected myself to take pictures while Amy took paint duty. We did Layton first and he really seemed to enjoy it! I could tell he didn't quite understand what the strange stuff on his hands were but he went with it and painted a pretty picture. Next it was Coop's turn. I will just say that I posted a progressive photo shoot of how the next few minutes went......

A trip to MiMi's & Pops!

Daniel has been doing some work in East Texas since late last year and they pulled him off of that job to work on something else. He finally finished that task and was ready to go back to work in East Texas and thankfully now that my bedrest is over Cooper and I got to tag along! We really enjoyed getting to spend several days with my mom and dad and I especially enjoyed being there because I haven't been out of the house (with the exception of San Antonio a few times) since Thanksgiving! While we were there Cooper ate Spaghettios for the first time......yuck! He was such a mess but I couldn't help taking pictures.....

Boys will be boys......

We finally had some decent weather and so we decided to take Cooper outside. Daniel has been trying to work in the flower beds in preparation for the upcoming spring season! I think I encouraged him a bit when I showed him pictures of the flower beds the day we brought Cooper home from the hospital......it was definitely the best it has ever looked and I suppose he would like to revive that again before we bring this baby home! So I should've known that Cooper is a typical male and went straight for the first puddle he could see but I guess I am oblivious......

It's a Girl!!.....we think

So I recently had my 20 week check-up on January 15 and I was so thankful to find out that FINALLY my placenta had moved!! It's still lingering very close to the cervix but nonetheless it's not completely covering it anymore....Praise God! And I am so very thankful for all the prayers and kind words that people gave us during this tough time. This check-up was also a bonus for us because we were finding out what the sex of the baby was. At our 15 week check-up Dr. King told us then she thought the baby was a girl and so we relayed that message to her at this check-up. She told us again she thought it was a girl but could not get an accurate picture to tell her for sure. Me being the impatient one asked for a percentage of how sure she was and so she finally said well I'm 95% sure that it's a girl. Well....I don't know about you but that's good enough for me! We are doing another sonogram at 28 weeks to check the progress of the moving placenta and also to confirm the gender so I guess we'll have to wait until then for that lingering 5%.......

19 months!

It's hard to believe Cooper is all ready 19 months....He is growing up so fast it seems like. It could just be that having another one growing inside me makes me more sentimental about how fast it's all going by or that he really is shooting up like a weed before our very eyes! We are having so much fun with him right now and he is talking more every day. He loves to get our attention by calling our names out loudly until we listen and he is still looking at as many books as he can get his hands on each day. I'm so ready for this weather to improve so we can spend more time outside with him because he would live out there if we would let him. I've included a few pictures from a recent evening where he wanted to sit in his chair like a big boy and Daniel made him laugh so hard he nearly fell out of it!
