Happy 5 months Kyleigh!

So, I decided that to relieve the stress of moving I would blog for awhile! I can't believe that Kyleigh is 5 months old.....next month we will be halfway to her first birthday. It doesn't seem like that much time has all ready passed us by. She is really starting to try and talk to us more and she has recently discovered her tongue and the spitting mechanism. It's so funny to watch her and I hope I catch it on video soon!

What I'm about to say may bother some and others may not care but it was my decision and so I'm happy I did it.......Kyleigh got her ears pierced! The main reason I decided to do it now is that A) she won't remember it later and B) her pediatrician does it in the office and uses numbing cream on the ears first. My mom will kill me for this one but I still remember getting my ears pierced when I was 5.

It was at a small Merle Norman studio downtown and we had it done right before my t-ball closing ceremonies. I had to go to home plate and pick up my trophy with a bright red face because I had been crying so much. I don't remember many things but that particular memory has stuck with me......sorry mom I love you :) She looks so cute with her little earrings!

On a side note....the nurse at the doctor's office thought we were there for a check-up so she went ahead and weighed Kyleigh. I couldn't believe it but she now weighs almost 16 lbs! She's gained almost 2 lbs in the last month! My little girl is growing into a little chunky monkey!

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

This last Saturday Daniel, Clifton, Amy, and I took the boys and Kyleigh to the Pumpkin Patch in Devine. We really wanted to take them last year but never got around to it before Halloween. I remember last year trying to chase Cooper around all the pumpkins and I had just found out I was pregnant with Kyleigh so I was not exactly in any kind of shape to chase him. It was so crazy this year to see Layton doing the exact same thing as Cooper last year as they are exactly a year apart. And this year Kyleigh was here to enjoy the fresh air and pumpkins!

I couldn't believe how much Cooper loved the "punkins". He loved holding them and transferring them from one place to another. He also enjoyed all the other activities they offered such as a hay maze, barrel train ride, water pumping, playground, and an area with goats, pigs, and chickens. I would have to say seeing Daniel and Clifton riding in the barrels with the boys was the highlight of the day....lol. We spent all morning there and then grabbed a great lunch before heading home. It was such an awesome day and I'm so glad we were able to enjoy it with Amy, Clifton, and Layton because our days here are so numbered! We will miss them so much!

PS I must mention that I took 200 pictures so I tried to show some of my favorite ones since I obviously couldn't post all of them!

Kyleigh's First Taste of Cereal

After Kyleigh's 4 month check-up, the doctor told us that we could start trying to feed Kyleigh cereal from a spoon. Cooper had such a bad time with his eczema and allergies that we had to wait a while longer with him. I decided to attempt it last week and needless to say it was a bit of a failure....lol. Kyleigh hated the taste and she would spit it out and make this face which I neglected to catch on camera. Here are a few pictures of her first solids!

A few recent pics of Kyleigh & Cooper

Watching her first Aggie football game

Sitting in her Bumbo

Cooper doing one of his favorite things....swinging!

And again!

I have been terrible at getting pictures of the kids lately. It seems like every time there is a great photo op, I don't have my camera. I should make it my mission for the rest of the year to capture as many moments as I can of the kids because they are growing up way too fast....I am saying "should" because it's going to get a little crazy around here the next couple of weeks as we get ready to move so "should" means pray for me!!

So, I mentioned a few weeks ago that we are moving to College Station. We now have an official closing date on our new house there....October 27! It's coming up really quickly and although I'm really excited it's also very bittersweet. Just today I was looking at my nephew, Layton, and couldn't believe how much he's grown in the past year....it seems like yesterday he was this tiny person coming to my house 2 days a week. He couldn't talk, walk, or barely even hold his head up. Now he's more than holding his head up, walking or should I say running, and talking 100 words a minute it seems like. He's got such a little personality and it's been so neat to be close and watch him grow up. It made me realize how much we're going to miss after we move....ok before I start the waterworks let me talk about the new house!

We found this house on one of our very first searches that we did online. It's a new house built about a year ago but never lived in. We fell in love with the look of the house and really thought our style would fit right in. When we got to see the house in person, we fell in love even more! We were going back and forth between that house and another one that seemed so far out of reach until they dropped the price. When we saw that house it seemed like our dream house but when we went back to take a second look we realized that the house had some major sheet rock problems and we were afraid of what else might be lurking around the corner if those problems were all ready showing up after only 2 years. SO, we went back to the other house and voila! I should also mention that our house was built by my old accounting professor from Blinn! Such a small world......it was great seeing him again and telling him how I was his former student from...ouch....9 years ago! Man am I getting old.....I'm pretty sure he went back and looked me up to see if I made good grades.....lol. Enjoy the pics!

Does this boy like Tractors or what?
