Happy 27th Birthday to Me!

My birthday was on Thursday and I had a great one! I didn't take any pictures but I got some yummy YUMMY cupcakes from Juli and a delicious cookie cake from my fabulous mother-in-law! There is a reason I won't take pictures of them.....most of the evidence has been devoured lol. My wonderful hubby brought me something I have been wanting ever since I got my Nikon D90 camera for Christmas.....a new lens! It's the same lens that my father-in-law has and it has a great zoom and can be used as an everyday lens! I love it and can't wait to use it....maybe on a vacation in the near future? I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family in my life and I look forward to celebrating 27 more birthdays!

Kyleigh is 2 months!

I can't believe this much time has all ready passed since our baby girl came into our lives. She is changing more and more every day and I just try to stop every chance I get to savor and enjoy every minute with her. She is really picking her head up these days when she's on your shoulder but not a big fan of tummy time! Here are her stats from her 2 month appt:
Weight: 10 lbs 3 oz
Length: 22.5 in

She is also smiling and cooing which I love! She is so happy in the morning time and I can't wait to get her out of bed sometimes.....even if it's early EARLY in the morning! Cooper is really starting to acknowledge her and when he goes to bed at night he is sure to say "Night Night Kyleigh" and he actually added her name into his "I like ....." category. We are so blessed to be their parents!

Rockport with the Family!

Last week we headed to Rockport on Thursday for a long weekend with the family. Very rarely do we have a time when all 4 kids and parents can come together in one place so this was special! My in-laws planned this entire weekend a few months back because they have an RV parked there year round and we are so appreciative to them for everything! We got there early afternoon on Thursday and set up camp at the cottages. It was an interesting day because Cooper and Kyleigh are not used to going much (poor things their mother is kind of a homebody) and getting acclimated to a different place proved to be a challenge.

Friday was our beach day! Trying to get 3 kids ready for the beach and 8 adults took a little longer than expected. We finally ended up at the beach around lunchtime so we packed lunch to take with us. It worked out so well because Layton took a morning nap and Grandma Hill sat with him. When we were taking Cooper back for his afternoon nap Grandma Hill offered to sit with him as well while he was napping.....she was such a HUGE help and we really appreciate it! It allowed Dan and I some time to spend at the beach without kids.....a little less stressful I must say. Tricia had offered that morning to watch Kyleigh for us because the heat was going to be too much for her.....thanks to you too Nana!!

Saturday was a much more low key day for some of us....Amy, Clifton, Carter, and Laura went fishing with some of Clifton's family while Amanda, Jerrod, Daniel, and I and the kids stayed back. We had a great day just hanging out and doing a little shopping. On Sunday morning we got up pretty early and took Cooper and Layton to the park across the street from the RV resort. They have great park swings and the boys didn't want to leave them! We also took them to the pond at the back of the park where there are turtles as far as you can see.....I think Layton was more interested in jumping in to swim and Cooper was just melting down from the heat. It was miserably hot that day and the humidity wasn't doing any favors either. We headed home around lunchtime on Sunday and we were sad to leave but glad to get home! It was such an awesome trip and we even talked about how we need to make it a tradition to get together one long weekend every summer.....I hope we hold ourselves to that!

I have to apologize to my sweet Kyleigh for not getting any pictures of you! I'm glad that Aunt Amy took some so there is actual documentation that you were there!

MiMi and Pop's Visit!

My mom and dad came in a couple of weeks ago to visit us. Well...I say us. I actually just mean Cooper and Kyleigh.....lol. We had such a great visit with them and I'm so glad they were able to come on Wednesday and stay until Sunday. They even offered to babysit all day Saturday so Daniel and I could go float the Comal river with friends and then attend his cousin Jacob's wedding that night....kid free! They had such a great time on Saturday with the kids and they actually behaved for the most part. We so rarely get to do things together anymore now that we have 2 kids so it was a treat! Thanks MiMi and Pop! We love you so much!

Cooper's New Toy!

I've been procrastinating on my blogging because I'm boycotting photography! I had to send my D90 off to Nikon because it's been giving me this strange error message. I am completely spoiled with my DSLR and now I have no desire to take pictures with a point-and-shoot camera anymore! You will see by my latest photos in this post why.......

Enough ranting.....Cooper got this awesome pirate water table for his birthday from his Nana, Papa, Aunt Amy, Uncle Clifton, Aunt Amanda, and Uncle Jerrod. Daniel put it together a couple of weeks ago and he has been enjoying it ever since! We taught him how to turn the waterfall on in the middle of the table and how to squirt people with the cannon on the side. He loves it and was completely soaked the other night from pouring water all over himself! I don't blame him as hot as it is here lately!
