Thank goodness that my mom has been here so many times lately because if it weren't for her I would have no recent pictures of Kyleigh......Thanks Mom! You're a lifesaver! I have been having trouble with my camera lately and I never know whether or not it will take pictures. Kyleigh is growing so quickly and I'm afraid I'm missing so many things! She had a cold last week and so I took her to the doctor to get checked out just to make sure she didn't have an ear infection. I was so surprised to find out that she is up to 8 lbs 8 oz! My tiny baby is finally growing!

I can't remember the last time I was able to go home. I miss it so much but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that my cousin, Sherri, had a conference in San Antonio and would be bringing my Aunt Ann with her. She asked if they could come for a visit so I was more than thrilled to have them! They got to meet Kyleigh for the first time and both thought she resembled me as a baby....FINALLY I have a child that looks like me! They also brought some goodies for Cooper's birthday. We had such a great visit and I look forward to them being able to come back!

Party, Party, Party!!!

We had a joint party for Cooper and Layton the Saturday after their birthday. I don't know what I would have done without Amy! She is a saint for putting everything together with little help from me! I helped out when I could but she knew I would be juggling two kids and would have little extra time on my hands to plan a party. I posted just a few of the 100+ pictures I took that day....it will truly be a birthday to remember for Cooper and for Layton. The party was absolutely awesome....Thanks Aunt Amy!

I can't believe my sweet baby boy turned 2! It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating a milestone with his first birthday and now another year has passed. Cooper is so funny these days and is learning so many new things it's hard for me to remember or keep up! He is now talking non-stop all the time and forming sentences right and left. I can't believe how much he's changed even in the past 2 or 3 months.

I have the most fabulous mother-in-law! She offered to keep Kyleigh on the day of Cooper's birthday so I could spend the whole day with just him. I knew she would probably enjoy having just one kid and to have one that isn't mobile! We went to San Antonio with Amy and Layton because we were also celebrating Layton's 1st Birthday! We took the boys for their first ride on the train at the San Antonio Zoo. They loved it! We then ventured over to Funtastic Playland. It's an indoor playground with all sorts of fun things for kids to do. I must say that I had forgotten how long it had been since our last visit there. Cooper wasn't even walking at the time and was fairly easy to keep up with. This time was quite different....I was running full speed ahead to keep up with him as he went from slide to slide to truck to you name it!

After a crazy morning of chasing the boys around we met up with Juli and Tanner at the Rainforest Cafe. I must confess....I'm still a bit of a kid at heart and Dan and I visited the Rainforest Cafe while we were in Las Vegas in April! We both knew immediately after going that Cooper would love it so when Amy mentioned taking the boys for a special birthday lunch I was all for it. Cooper didn't each much of his dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets because he was so enamored with the scenery and thunderstorm that came every 30 minutes. We had a such an awesome day and we ALL enjoyed a much needed nap after getting home!

Kyleigh's Newborn Pics

When Kyleigh was a week old my friend Juli came over to take professional pictures of her. This was something I never did with Cooper but wished I had later. Those first few days of life are so precious and innocent and to not capture that on camera is a crime! I hope Coop doesn't hold it against me some day....I love you bud and trust me I was all ready way ahead with you of where I am now on taking pictures of your sister! The session took about 3 1/2 hours and Juli was so gracious and patient with us! There were so many good ones I couldn't possibly post all of them so I included just a few of my favorites including one of my sweet boy (I think he was feeling a little left out so he stood in front of the camera, smiled, and said "Cheese"!) The pictures turned out even better than I imagined.....thanks again Juli!

"Li-Licle"

I can't believe I'm saying this but my baby boy turns 2 this Wednesday, the 16th. He is growing up so fast lately and learning so many new words and things. Grandma Hill bought Cooper a "Li-Licle" (his word for Tricycle) for his birthday and gave it to him last week so he would have it all week long to enjoy in case she wasn't able to come to the party. He absolutely loves it! Daniel is in the process of trying to teach Cooper to ride it and he's learning fast but not there quite yet. I have a feeling by this weekend he will be riding circles around all of us!

"Swinnin"

I remember how much fun Cooper had last year when we took him to the lake and also in the pool. I must say that even though it's been a year he definitely hasn't forgotten how much he loves to go "swinnin" (his word for swimming)....lol. He daily asks us to take him to Nana and Papa's house so he can go "swinnin". We took him this last weekend and he got to swim with Daddy and "Mammaw" (Grandma Hill). He had such a great time and I was so thankful to have captured his wonderful grin!

First Great Granddaughter!

Great Grandma Hindes holding Kyleigh for the first time
Admiring that precious baby girl!

Kyleigh is 3 weeks old now! I can't believe how fast time flies.....On the Hindes side of our family we have had 6 grandsons all in a row so Kyleigh is the first girl born since Amanda who is now 24! It was such a joy to get to see Grandma Hindes hold Kyleigh for the first time.....I knew how special that was for her to see her first great granddaughter. She was unable to see her in the first 2 weeks because she had a terrible cough....we were so glad for her to get well! Not only is Kyleigh now 3 weeks old but this was my first week at home alone with both kids.....and I SURVIVED!!!! I didn't kill anyone and Daniel didn't get too many emotional phone calls! We shall see if this joyous attitude continues.....lol OH and I forgot to mention....Daniel and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on the 4th! It's amazing how 5 years has passed and we now have 2 beautiful healthy children.....I love our family and I look forward to 50 more years!

I think it's true when they say that after your first child you quickly forget the sleepless nights, bottle washing, diaper changing, etc., but I definitely think it comes back rather quickly as well. The first couple of weeks have been exciting but hard....trying to establish a new schedule with Kyleigh and keeping the normal schedule with Cooper has been a bit challenging but I am so thankful that my mom stayed with me that first week after and Daniel took off work for the second week. My mom was a lifesaver! I love you Mom! She kept Cooper going and let me take care of Kyleigh. I don't know what I would have done without her.....I have to say the same for Daniel. He also kept Cooper entertained that second week and it was such a refreshing change for Cooper to have Daddy home all week. We took Kyleigh for her second PKU when she was a week old and she did awesome! We also took her for her one and two week check-ups and she is back up to 6 lbs 11 oz now. She went down to 6 lbs 3 oz before we came home from the hospital but has more than made up for it now!
