Weekend Fun and Matching PJ's....

This last weekend Carter and Laura came in to visit! We really enjoy getting to see and spend time with them when they are able to come. I have always said no one makes Cooper laugh like his Aunt Laura. On a totally different note....WE SOLD THE BOAT!!! We have been trying to sell our 99 Supra for awhile now with many calls and offers but no luck. We got a call this last week from a guy in Arkansas who (after much debating with his wife) finally made the trek down and after a near catastrophe (the boat wouldn't start) he left Saturday afternoon, boat in tow! We enjoy boating so much during the summer and recently had the opportunity to buy a bigger boat that is more family friendly. We are now the proud owners of that boat and can't wait to get out and use it!

While Dan went with Clifton to meet up with the buyer he dropped Coop off with his Nana, Papa, Uncle Carter, and Aunt Laura for some playtime while I finished some last minute shopping for the baby and myself in San Antonio. When I got home I went to pick him up and found out that he and Uncle Carter had been playing the guitar and Aunt Laura ran him up and down the hallway on the fire truck! He's so busy these days and sometimes hard to entertain but they managed to keep his attention and then some. That night everyone came over to our house and we grilled hot dogs and had a great time. After Dan gave Cooper a bath and put his PJ's on we realized that the PJ's Amy brought for Layton were the same ones! Obviously this meant a quick photo session. I got some great pics of both Layton and Cooper in Dan's lap while he read a book to them and a few of them attempting to hug? maybe....not sure about that one. I think it was more of Layton trying to pull up on Cooper and Cooper had no where to go....hilarious. Enjoy!

Kyleigh's Room is FINISHED!! (and a surprise baby shower!!!)

I can't believe every thought, dream, or idea I had in my head for the past 4-5 months has finally come to fruition. Kyleigh's room is finally finished and it turned out even better than I ever expected or thought it could. I think I have so much fun doing nurseries because I take a theme and go way overboard with it. I was fortunate that my mom and dad had Cooper all week and it gave me a much needed break to work on a few things. They brought him back this past weekend and also brought the baby's furniture. We stayed up until 11:30 on Saturday night but once it was finished I couldn't have been any more pleased. Designing nurseries or children's rooms would be like a true dream job for me. I really hope that Kyleigh loves the room (once she's able to actually appreciate things like that)!

Now for the surprise baby shower......I am terrible when it comes to surprising me. I don't know if I am just really perceptive of things or just nosy but I can't ever remember a time when someone was truly able to surprise me.....until last weekend. I was approached by a good friend of mine, Juli, and asked to be a guinea pig for her new photography website. She wanted to put some maternity photos on the website and asked if I would be willing to model. At first I wasn't crazy about the idea but she promised they would be really pretty and tasteful. I agreed and we were on. Little did I know that the whole time they (my sister-in-law and friends) were plotting behind my back to surprise me with a shower. Juli picked me up to do the pictures at Amy and Clifton's house and once we got there I knew something was up. There were cars everywhere and all of which I recognized the drivers.....family, friends, etc. I was surprised enough when I walked in the door and they said surprise but to top it off they got my mom and grandma here the night before without me ever knowing. I was so elated I started to cry. I don't think I've ever felt so special and appreciated in my life......I've been so down lately because I haven't been feeling well and I haven't been able to get much done in the nursery or the house because of it. I can't begin to tell every person involved how grateful and appreciative I am for them individually for picking my spirits up and making me realize how excited I really am about meeting this precious little girl in my belly (even if she is causing me great pain and discomfort!!)

I'm not only including pictures of the room but a few from the shower as well so enjoy! And by the way....Juli didn't end up taking pictures that day but she came over this past Friday and took some...I can't wait to see them!

More progress on Kyleigh's Room....

On Saturday the 10th I had Tracy Garcia of Petite Suites come and paint in Kyleigh's room. I bought the crib bedding in San Antonio at a boutique called Nursery Couture. When I was there I noticed that there was a lot of custom painting on the walls so I asked the sales associate who painted them and she gave me Tracy's business card. I got in contact with her through e-mail and she agreed to come and paint for me! She is the sweetest person and I would recommend her to anyone. She paints nurseries, kid's rooms, and also playrooms. Please check out her website! www.petitesuites.net

Happy Easter!

I learned a valuable lesson over this last weekend of celebrating Easter. DO NOT under any circumstances have the "egg hunt" during nap time! I was really excited this year about hunting eggs with Cooper because I thought he was beginning to understand the concept of finding the egg. Unfortunately by the time we finished lunch and got outside for pictures it was around his normal nap time. The happy "egg hunt" turned into a disaster! I was unable to get him to even pick up his easter basket much less hunt the eggs to put inside. Even though it was unsuccessful we had a wonderful time celebrating with everyone and also celebrating the true meaning of Easter and why we are able to celebrate our risen Savior!

First Trip to the Lake in 2010....

Last Sunday afternoon, Amy, Clifton, Dan, and I decided to try a little experiment.....taking 2 boys to the lake! We are looking to upgrade our boat and needed to try one out so we obviously needed to take the boys and see how they both liked it. We had such a great time and it was a beautiful day out on Medina Lake. The water level is still around 30 feet low but we were able to find enough water to cruise a bit. It actually made me become giddy about the summer and swimming.....I got a small dose of water on my back when it splashed into the boat and it's most DEFINITELY NOT time to swim yet. The water was absolutely freezing! I was glad to be able to enjoy a run on the boat before the baby comes because I know this summer's lake trips for me will be few and far between. Layton and Cooper both had fun getting to drive the boat with their dads and I believe we will probably have two water babies on our hands this summer!
